Volunteer Teaching French in Ghana

General Teaching Projects Teach French

A group of Ghanaian school children listen to a French lesson.

In Ghana, Projects Abroad Teaching volunteers have the opportunity to teach languages other than English. For French-speaking volunteers who wish to teach the language, French teaching is available in Ghana.

Teaching volunteers have the option of teaching French full-time, or combining teaching French with another subject. Our placements are always happy to have volunteers teach a variety of different subjects, as well as extra-curricular and creative subjects that will engage the students’ interests.

The age of the children you can teach on this project can be between 3 and 12 years. The schools we work with have nurseries and kindergartens attached to them, which is why some of the children you can teach may be as young as 3 years old.

To be able to teach French in Ghana, volunteers must have an advanced level of French.

Soon the tables and chairs became drums and the rest of the lesson was filled with the girls singing the local songs and the boys rapping. Instantly the ice was broken and I had somehow managed to earn their respect. Read more...
