The Projects Abroad Dentistry project in Nepal is recommended for dental students, dental nurses, and qualified dental hygienists. Dentistry interns will be based in the dental department of the Chitwan Medical College Hospital (CMC) in Bharatpur. Whether you are a student planning to study dentistry or a trained professional looking to gain international work experience, a Dentistry internship in Nepal offers you the opportunity to both help and learn.

As an intern, your role will be mainly observational. You will observe dentists and other professional dental staff throughout their day and enhance your own medical knowledge by asking questions and observing a variety of dental procedures. By showing initiative and enthusiasm you may be able to help the local staff with basic procedures, such as scaling and polishing. Depending on your skills and qualifications, you may have the opportunity to assist with dental restoration, root canal treatments, and tooth extraction.

You can read more detailed information about the aims of the project in our Nepal Medicine & Healthcare Management Plan.

Interning Abroad as a Dentist in Nepal with Projects Abroad

Interns may also have the opportunity to visit local schools to lead health and hygiene classes as part of a community outreach project. You can show children how to brush their teeth properly and teach them about general dental hygiene.

Dentistry interns live with a host family in Nepal and have the chance to learn about Nepalese culture and daily life. You could even learn a bit of the local language, Nepali, from your host family.

Interns usually work from Monday to Friday with the weekends free. In your free time, you can explore your beautiful surroundings and socialize with other volunteers from the lively Projects Abroad volunteer community.
