If you wish to do your Dentistry Elective with Projects Abroad in Argentina, you will be working in a hospital near Cordoba. They will be eager to test your knowledge, as well as giving you the benefit of their training and experience.
Students on the Dentistry Elective will spend the duration of their time in Argentina in Villa Allende Hospital. The hospital is located in the beautiful Sierras Chicas not far from where our office is based. It is one of the largest government run hospitals in the area and serves patients from the surrounding regions. The hospital looks outdated but the equipment and resources are good. You can get involved in many aspects of dentistry depending on your chosen specialty.

An intermediate level of Spanish is required for this placement to ensure that you can interact fully with both the local staff and the patients.
When you aren’t at work, you will spend your time with your host family experiencing the Argentinean way of life, and also with the Projects Abroad volunteer community. There is a lot to do in and around Cordoba and you will find that your spare time is easily filled.
Dental Student Electives in Argentina are available for shorter periods than 4 weeks. While you will be able to gain valuable medical experience on a short-term trip, we recommend staying for a longer period to allow yourself more time to get to know the local medical system, see more of a variety of conditions and procedures, and develop stronger relationships with local medical staff.
