Mandarin Language Courses in China

Volunteers in China practice speaking Mandarin on the street

Projects Abroad offers Mandarin language courses in Shanghai. Though English is widely spoken in both cities, by learning Mandarin you’ll be able to further immerse yourself in the fascinating Chinese culture. Making an effort to speak the basics in Mandarin will be greatly appreciated by your colleagues.

You can learn Mandarin through Projects Abroad on an intensive Language Project, where you will receive an average of 15 hours of class time each week. Lessons will take place at a local language centre with a qualified language teacher. The lessons are tailored to your personal level and can be adapted based on your interests.

Learn Mandarin Chinese in China

Whether you are a complete beginner or have been learning Mandarin for many years, being immersed in the language every day will help your skills progress quickly.

After your lessons you will, of course, have plenty of time to complete your homework and explore the city to practice what you have learned.

Alternatively you can undertake a short, 14-hour or 30-hour language course in Mandarin. This course is tailored to your needs and runs alongside your volunteer placement or internship. If you are planning on volunteering or interning abroad for twelve weeks or more, you could also complete a 60-hour course alongside your placement.
