We work in a wide range of projects located all around the world. When you go abroad with Projects Abroad, you specify when you want to go, where and what project you want to do. Everywhere our volunteers go, we employ full-time, professional staff to help you be effective in your job and generally to make sure that things go smoothly.

Volunteer & Intern Abroad Projects for All Ages
Volunteer Abroad projects are for anyone 16 and older to undertake valuable service work to benefit the communities in which we work. Almost all projects to not have any requirements and are suitable for anyone who wants to give back by volunteering abroad. Available throughout the year, you can start anytime and choose your duration.
Intern Abroad projects are for anyone 16 or older to develop skills in a particular field by volunteering alongside local professionals in the role of an intern and helping as needed. While the majority of projects to not have experience requirements, you should have a strong interest in the field in which you are working. Available throughout the year, you can start anytime and choose your duration.

Just for teens
High Schools Specials are for teens (15-18 years old) to join a group of their peers participating in worthwhile service and professional development projects under the constant supervision of Projects Abroad staff. These projects have set dates for 2-week and 4-week periods and follow a busy daily schedule, including guided tourism trips and cultural activities.
Just for Professionals
These projects are structured the same as our Volunteer Abroad and Intern Abroad programs, but where volunteers work in roles where there is a specific need for people with professional experience. Start dates and duration of these projects are flexible to fit your schedule.
Just for 50+
Grown-up Specials are for anyone 50 or older to join volunteers of their own age on organized service trips in developing countries across the world. These projects do not have any requirements and each project has set dates for 2-week periods.
Our Chinese New Year Specials are short programs for people of all ages to travel and do volunteer work as a group over the Chinese New Year holiday. These projects are scheduled for 1-week periods in January and February in some of our closest destinations.
Volunteer in Kathmandu, Nepal over the Chinese New Year and help provide care and support to children in a care centre.

Give back over the Chinese New Year as a volunteer in Thailand and work with children in a kindergarten or care centre.

Our Winter Break Trips are short-term volunteer programs for anyone ages 16 and older. These trips take place during the winter break on fixed dates in December and January. Volunteers can choose from 2-week and 4-week trips.
Volunteer during your winter break and contribute to important disaster relief efforts in the wake of the devastating April 2015 earthquakes in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Volunteer in Ghana and help make a difference in the lives of children in an orphanage or day care center. You will also contribute to valuable renovation activities in the community.
Use your winter break to make a difference while exploring Madagascar. You will get involved with two areas of volunteer work, child care and conservation.
Volunteer in Cape Town, South Africa with Projects Abroad during winter break and help promote Early Childhood Development in disadvantaged day care centres in township areas.
Experience different approaches to medicine and treatments in a developing country and give back through worthwhile outreach work in underprivileged communities.
Gain valuable experience in the field of medicine in Sri Lanka over the winter break. Here, you will shadow local doctors at a busy general hospital and participate in outreach activities.
Culture & Community projects offer volunteers the chance to be closely involved with unique communities abroad. In most cases you will be fully immersed in their daily lives, living and working alongside them and learning about their culture. Flexible start dates and durations.
Explore the ancient civilizations and engaging culture of modern Cambodia on our Khmer Project. Learn some of the Khmer language, cooking and local crafts and visit the main sites of Phnom Penh and the magnificent temples at Angkor Wat.
Fully immerse yourself into the exciting culture of this beautiful island nation by living and violunteering in a traditional Fijian village. You will live with a Fijian host family and help with the day-to-day task of the village, including teaching, farming, cooking, basket weaving, mat making, and gardening.
Live with a traditional Maroon community in Jamaica. The Jamaican Maroons were runaway slaves who fought the British during the 18th century. Working alongside members of the Maroon community will help with a wide variety of tasks from teaching reading to cultural preservation projects.
Live and work on the Mongolian steppe with a Nomadic family. Riding horses and camels and collecting firewood are all part of daily life in the desert.
Join a Moroccan nomadic family living in the largest desert on the planet - the Sahara. You will get to help with the livestock, prepare meals, and retrieve water while learning about the nomadic culture and way of life.
Experience a unique insight into the Maasai tribe's way of life, and play a vital role when it comes to helping the Maasai people.
Immerse yourself in traditional Samoan village life and learn about their fascinating culture as you give back to the community.
Help build a community center in the township of Lavender Hill and contribute to various community projects, including nutrition and childcare.
Whether you are starting from scratch or looking to enhance your existing language skills, our classes will enable you to learn a great deal. You can choose to participate in only a language placement or spend a few weeks learning the local language before joining one of our diverse volunteer programs. This enables you to get the most out of your volunteering experience and is strongly recommended for those joining a medicine or journalism internship with a language requirement.
Groups of 5 or more can participate in tailor-made group trips in any destination. Most projects can be customized to fit the goals of a group and the needs of the local communities in which we work.
In most destinations children under 16 years old can accompany their parents on our projects to volunteer abroad together as a family.
