Intern in Africa
Interning abroad in Africa is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in a new country and culture, while gaining valuable international work and resume building experience. Whether you are interested in an internship in business, medicine and healthcare, journalism, law and human rights, or veterinary medicine, a variety of internships in a wide rage of settings and fields are available in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, and Togo.
Through our intern abroad program in Africa, your time and efforts will be greatly appreciated and your role will be important. From engaging in legal work at the Human Rights Commission in Togo, to working in medical institutions in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, interns will gain unique hands-on experience, as positions often offer greater responsibility and opportunities than many internships in North America. Depending on the program, interns work anywhere from 30 – 40 hours a week. While knowledge of the native language in the country where you are interning is usually not necessary, most interns will be expected to be proficient in both verbal and written English.
Through your international internship in Africa, you will not only provide beneficial aid and value to your organization, but you will also help nurture a developing economy. You will learn from your placements and the people you meet while gaining further insight in a chosen field, a cross-cultural exchange in which benefits are reaped both on a personal and global level.
