Projects Abroad in Bolivia - Arrival Procedure in Cochabamba

Arrival Procedures

If you're interested in volunteering in this destination, please contact us first before applying.

  • Arrival Airport: Cochabamba (CBB)

Charque, or dried beef, is a typical Bolivian dish

When you arrive at Cochabamba Airport, you will be met by a member of our Bolivia team. It's a small airport, and once you've collected your luggage and gone through immigration, look out for the Projects Abroad sign.

Volunteering in Bolivia: Orientation and Induction

One of our staff members will introduce you to Cochabamba, showing you where to find an internet café, how to phone home, where to catch a bus or a taxi from, and how to locate the Projects Abroad Bolivia office.

You will have time to relax with your host family who will be eager to settle you in and make you feel at home. Usually the following day a member of staff will then introduce you to your project supervisor and you will decide on a schedule. Most volunteers have a short 10 minute bus journey to work. If you are volunteering on a Standard Project, all necessary work-related transportation costs will be covered by Projects Abroad.

If you have any questions or problems, the Bolivia team are on the end of the phone 24 hours a day, or you can walk into the office during the day.
